Conor McGregor continues to add disaffection in the UFC. The Irishman's newest rival is the middleweight Gegard Mousasi, who criticized him during the post-UFC 204 press conference, held on October 8th, when he knocked out Vitor belfort in the second round. At the time, the Armenian criticized McGregor's way of promoting himself, who did not like the statements and, through messages on social media, allegedly threatened Mousasi.

“I think this redhead is retarded. In the interview, I talked about him, they were talking about respect, and he sent me a message on Twitter. And I said: “What are you going to do with your 50 kilos?” I don't know if he was trying to be philosophical or whatever, but he said: “A knife is lighter than a pound, and it can cut you from ear to ear” said Mousasi in an interview with the North American program 'The MMA Hour'.

Even with the threats, Mousasi claims not to have been intimidated, and took the opportunity to mock Conor's size and courage. For him, everyone “grows up” through social media.

“This guy is a bum. He's a 60-pound guy, what the hell is he going to do? Face to face, he wouldn't say that. Twitter gives some people courage. I don't know what he was getting at with the knife thing, if he was trying to be philosophical. He thinks a lot about the message he writes. It's been a long time. I told him to say it to my face, but I bet he won't do that. Come say it to my face. Everyone’s courage increases on social media,” he concluded.
