“I have the pros and cons of it. Who will be in front is a very complicated thing. It's the same thing as electing a politician thinking he's going to do the best for you and then you'll see... Lula comes along, sinks the country, f***s you up and leaves you in the same mess you are in. So I'm very afraid of making this a policy and whoever goes ahead will only reap benefits for themselves”, said the coach in an interview with the website 'Portal do Vale Tudo'.

Asked about Aldo's decision to retire, Pederneiras claimed a “lack of truth” as a primary factor in choosing his student, who will travel to Las Vegas next week for a meeting with the UFC leadership, and who must finally , define the future of the fighter.

“It wasn’t a question of dialogue, it was a question of failing to tell the truth. He said 'I'm not going to take the guy's belt and that's it, I'm going to do what I want'. From the moment you fail to tell the truth and promise things that you will not fulfill, then you start a problem”, he concluded.
