Former UFC welterweight champion Matt hugs was officially announced this morning on the UFC 135 card. The North American will fight for the first time this year when facing his compatriot Diego Sanchez in the edition scheduled for September 24th in the city of Denver, United States.
Hughes has been away from the octagons since November last year, when he was quickly knocked out by BJ Penn in just 21 seconds of fighting at UFC 123. Sanchez has two consecutive victories in his career, the most recent being over Danish Martin Kampmann, by unanimous decision by the judges, in March this year at UFC on Versus 3.
UFC 135 has, so far, seven fights confirmed on its card. The main attraction of the show will be the fight for the organization's light heavyweight belt, where the champion Jon Jones will put his title on the line against the former category champion Quinton “Rampage”Jackson.
