After battle at UFC 204, Bisping receives six-month medical suspension

In total, seven athletes received 180 days of suspension; Belfort, knocked out by Mousasi, will have to be out for 45 days

The victory over Dan Henderson in the main fight of UFC 204, an event held last Saturday (08), in Manchester, England, cost more than expected for Michael Bisping, who received a medical suspension from Ultimate of at least 60 days, but which can be extended up to 180 days (six months), unless medical tests clear him.

In addition to a large cut below his left eye, the Englishman needs to undergo a maxillofacial and head CT scan to be released from a major suspension. Hendo, who had the last fight of his career, was suspended for 30 days. Vitor belfort, knocked out by Gegard Mousasi in the second most important fight of the night, he will have to stay away for 45 days, 30 without contact training.

In addition to Bisping, six other fighters received 180-day suspensions, including Brazilians Adriano Martins and Iuri Marajó, with injuries to the left ankle and left elbow, respectively. The other athletes were Ovince St Preux, Russell Doane, davey grant e Danny Roberts.

It is worth mentioning that medical suspensions are generally imposed by local athletic commissions, but in this case, as Manchester does not have an entity, the UFC itself was responsible for regulating the event and stipulating deadlines.
