the future of José Aldo It's unknown, but at least we know one thing for sure: MMA fans won't see the Brazilian working outside of the UFC. And the person who guaranteed this was the fighter himself, who made a point of highlighting that the idea of retirement remains firm.

“There is a meeting scheduled for this week and we will see if everything will be resolved. I'm going to Las Vegas on the 19th. Before that, I'm going to sit down with Dedé this week, he's trying to change my mind a little, but there's no way. I'm very determined about what I want (…) It's not a question of wanting to retire. I'm very young and I have a lot of wood to burn, but I don't have the desire to fight. And it’s not a case of wanting to go to another organization. I’m not going to leave the biggest event in the world to play in Series B. I’m a big team, if I’m not going to fight in the UFC, I won’t fight anywhere”, said Aldo during a chat with the press at the inauguration of Pedro Rizzo’s CT in Manguinhos , in Rio de Janeiro.
Aldo also spoke about his plans for the future. According to him, the fact that he is still linked to the UFC hinders the carrying out of other work outside of MMA.
“I want to do other things in Brazil, not fight MMA. If I ever think about returning to MMA, it will be to the UFC, which is where I deserve to be. I want to free myself from the contract because it prevents me from doing many things I want. I can't even breathe outside of the UFC”, confessed the fighter, who concluded by talking about his current financial situation and the status he has achieved within the sport.
“If I stopped fighting today, I don’t know if three generations would be at peace. But at least my daughter will be fine. I want to be remembered as an excellent athlete, an excellent fighter. I am among the greatest in history. For me, I’m the best of all time,” he concluded.
