Recognized as one of the birthplaces of world MMA, Japan may be close to having an edition of the UFC again. The event, which has already been to Japanese lands on four occasions, could hold a new edition in the country in 2011. The information was confirmed by UFC president, Dana White, during the UFC 132 press conference, held this weekend, in Las Vegas.
“The rumor is true. We are going to Japan this year, and soon”, said the director. “Later this year,” he added.

The last time the UFC was in Japan was 11 years ago, in December 2000, when UFC 29 was produced. At the time, names like: Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Matt Lindland and Pat Miletich were on the card.
