Considered one of the most successful fighters in the history of MMA, Dan Henderson hung up his gloves last Sunday (9), after his fight at UFC 204. Despite losing the decision to Michael Bisping in a fight for the title, the North American guarantees that he will retire from the sport happy with his achievements.

Henderson, 46 years old, fought a fierce fight against Bisping, but narrowly missed out on winning the UFC title he dreamed of. “I am completely satisfied with everything I have done. Going into this fight, regardless of whether I lost or won, I was satisfied. I know that I achieved a lot of things and that I worked hard for this fight. Unfortunately things didn't work out for me, and that's frustrating,” he commented, in an interview with the UFC's official website.
One of the most important moments of the fight happened in the first round, when Henderson knocked Bisping down with a punch and almost knocked him out. The veteran revealed that, at the time, a memory of the first duel against the Englishman, in 2009, crossed his mind.
On that occasion, Henderson erased Bisping with a single punch, but landed one more blow to secure the victory. Criticized at the time for hitting more than necessary, the American said that this hindered him in the new fight.
“I even spoke to the guys in my corner. For a split second, what happened in the first fight crossed my mind, when they criticized me for hitting him one more time [after the knockout]. For a second, I controlled myself instead of attacking. That's why I say we always have to go from strength to strength, because you never know what could happen. One more punch… It was very close to being over”, he recalled.
