the american Nate marquardt is no longer part of the UFC fighter roster. The athlete was fired today (25) from the organization moments before the UFC on Versus 4 weigh-in, where he would face his compatriot Rick story in the main fight of the edition that takes place this Sunday in the city of Pittsburgh, in the United States.
The cancellation of Marquardt's contract with the Ultimate was confirmed by the event's president, Dana White, after the fighter failed the mandatory medical exams before any fight in the UFC.
“Marquardt failed the medical exams. He is not only out of tomorrow's fight but also out of the UFC,” said White.
With Marquardt's resignation, the fight between the heavyweights Pat barry e Cheick Congo was promoted to the top of the card. In turn, Story will now face Charlie Brenneman in a fight valid for the welterweight division. The only Brazilian representative on the card, Charles “from the Bronx” will measure forces with the North American Nik lentz in a clash in the lightweight category.
