Alvarez mocks McGregor's stare: 'I've never felt so little threatened'

UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez assured that he was not at all intimidated when he came face to face with his next opponent, Conor McGregor, holder of the featherweight belt.

The athletes, who will face off against champions at UFC 205, in New York (USA), held their first official face-off last week. Alvarez revealed that, contrary to what happened in practically all of his previous fights, he was not driven by emotions.

“Normally, when we stare at a man, my heart rate goes up. I feel something. But when I was on stage with him, I never felt so little threatened by a human being. This is the most pure true. I’ve never felt so little threatened,” he declared, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

Alvarez believes that McGregor will not be able to provide him with a challenge equal to what he normally faces in the lightweight division. “They [the lightweights] have versatile skills and, even though the fight goes into other areas, from striking to the ground, everyone is tough in each of them. They are complete. And, as far as I’ve seen, I don’t think he [McGregor] can be like that,” he classified.

UFC 205 takes place on November 12th and will mark the debut of the Octagon in New York City. If he wins, McGregor will become the first athlete in Ultimate history to hold two belts simultaneously.
