Seeking to recover from his first career setback, the Brazilian Charles “from the Bronx” his return to the UFC is scheduled for the 26th. On this date the fighter will face the North American Nik lentz on the preliminary card of UFC on Versus 4, an edition to be held in the city of Pittsburgh, United States.
Aiming to become the youngest champion in the history of Ultimate, Charles trains intensively with black belt Jorge Patino “Macaco” for what will be his fourth commitment at the event. Focused on obtaining another victory for his record, the athlete emphasizes that he will try not to leave the result of the confrontation in the hands of the judges, which is why he will seek to end the fight from the first minute of action.
“Lentz is a very underrated athlete. He is on a seven-fight win streak, including over Tyson Griffin. I will always look for a knockout or submission, as I want to be known as an exciting fighter who doesn’t have his fights defined on the judges’ sheets,” he said.
Charles lost an unbeaten streak of 14 fights in his career when he was submitted by Jim Miller at UFC 124, a show that took place last December. For the new challenge that is approaching, the tough guy claims to have corrected the mistakes made in the last fight and promises to complicate Lentz's life to once again be among the main names in the organization's lightweight category.
“I am prepared for wherever the fight takes place. He (Lentz) can choose where he wants to fight because I'm ready to fight on both feet and on the ground”, concluded the confident Charles.
