Brazilians promise big fights at UFC Rio

After shining in battles around the world, Brazilians Anderson Silva, Mauricio Shogun e Rodrigo Minotauro are scheduled to star in the main fights of UFC 134, an event that marks the organization's return to national territory. During the press conference to introduce the show, the Tupiniquin athletes were happy to be fighting in the capital of Rio.

Scheduled to defend his reign in the middleweight division against the Japanese Yushin Okami, Anderson Silva stated that the event will be a duel of nations.

“It’s a Brazilian team against the rest of the world,” said the champion.

Shogun, who faces Forrest griffin in the fight that marks the rematch of the confrontation that took place in 2007, won by the North American, he stated that he is motivated to win on national territory.

 

“I will do my best to represent my country, my friends and my family.”

In its turn, Rodrigo Minotauro, who despite being 35 years old and having 39 professional fights will make his debut acting in Brazil, stated that he could not miss the opportunity to work “at home”.

 

“All the fans screaming on the day of the fight will give me extra strength. It’s a dream for me, I’ve never fought here in Brazil and I couldn’t miss it for anything,” he said.

 

UFC 134, also called UFC Rio, is scheduled to take place on August 27th, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro and features 11 Brazilians in action. Check out the full show card below, which will go on sale for tickets this Friday.
