The Brazilian Antonio Pezão His days in the UFC may be numbered. And the one who guarantees this is Alex Davis, the fighter's manager. With six defeats in the last eight fights, all by knockout, Pezão's future is uncertain, but, according to Davis, it is already being planned if his dismissal is confirmed.
“Pezão should be fired from the UFC and will probably go to Rizin (FF) or Russia,” Alex told the North American website ‘MMAJunkie’.
Jerry Millen, vice-president of Rizin, aware of Pezão's complicated situation in Ultimate, showed interest in signing the Brazilian. According to him, Antônio has all the characteristics that the event considers important for an athlete.
“As we are always looking for fighters with international appeal and good personality… and Pezão has it all. He's had a tough time in his last few fights but he's a professional. At Rizin, we want fans to be entertained in the same way they were at the event on the 25th. If Pezão is interested in fighting at Rizin, we are always open to talking to the fighters and their managers”, he guaranteed in an interview with 'MMA Mania' website (USA).
If Pezão's dismissal from the UFC is confirmed, the Brazilian will end his time with the organization with three wins, seven defeats and one draw. He even competed for the heavyweight belt against Cain Velazquez, in 2013, but was knocked out in the first round.
