Canadian Georges St Pierre will defend his reign in the division UFC welterweight against the North American Nick Diaz, owner of the Strikeforce belt. The fight will be the first super fight between the champions of the two organizations, but for GSP, this confrontation will not just be a fight for the belt, but an opportunity to show off Diaz.
“He's been talking about me for a long time, saying I'm the best, that I was running away from him, but I've never run away from anyone,” says the UFC champion, to the Canadian Press website. St. Pierre even took advantage of the interview to needle Nick and say that he doesn't care about the Strikeforce title.
“I don’t care about another title. The belt that matters to me is the UFC belt, the most prestigious and the one everyone wants. I don’t care about winning the Strikeforce belt”, concluded the Canadian.
The fight between Georges St Pierre e Nick Diaz will be the main attraction of UFC 137, an event scheduled to take place on October 29th, in Las Vegas, in the United States.
