Ultime Fighting Championship returns to Las Vegas, this Saturday, for UFC 130. The event will not feature a title fight, as Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, who were scheduled to fight for the lightweight belt, suffered injuries during preparation and were removed from the card. With that, the duel between light heavyweights, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt Hamill were set to headline the show.
Coming off a victory over the Brazilian Lyoto Machida at UFC 123, Rampage Jackson, who in case of victory could be the first challenger for the Jon Jones, claims not to be afraid of Hamill, and guarantees that he will beat his rival.
“I am a fighter and I like open fighting. I like to fight quickly and I don’t fear anyone,” he said. Rampage. “I will have to do to Hamill what I do to all my opponents: give him a beating,” said the always controversial Jackson.
On the other hand, Matt Hamill, who has a good run of five wins in the organization, told iG that he is more complete than Rampage, and therefore he will leave the octagon with victory.
“We know that the Rampage He's a great fighter, but we also know he's one-dimensional. We have prepared a perfect game plan to win the fight. Now my job is to go out there, execute this strategy and win. I think the winner of this fight will be the guy who feels comfortable in more than one area of fighting, and I believe it will be me”, said the athlete, who is deaf, in an interview with iG.
The UFC 130 fight program also features five Brazilians in action. On the preliminary card, Renan Barão seeks his second victory in Ultimate against Cole Escovedo, while lightweights Gleison Tibau and Rafaello “Trator” take part in the Brazilian duel on the show. On the main card, Jorge Santiago, who returns to the UFC after five years, will face Brian Stann, and Thiago “Pitbull” Alves seeks to resume his path to the belt against the American Rick Story
