After winning nine of his ten career fights, the Brazilian Magno Almeida You will have the opportunity to debut in a large organization. The athlete was called up today (26) for Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum, where he will face the North American Conor Heun on the preliminary card of the edition that will take place on June 18th in the United States.
Almeida hasn't known what it's like to lose since 2008, a period in which he racked up five consecutive victories in his career. A Jiu-Jitsu black belt, the São Paulo native is coming off a submission victory (rear-naked choke) over the North American Mike Campbell at CES MMA 1 – First Blood, an event held last September in the United States.
Heun is now seeking rehabilitation in Strikeforce after being defeated in his only two fights as an athlete at the event. In his most recent career commitment, the North American was defeated by his compatriot KJ Noons, by split decision from the judges, in the Strikeforce: Los Angeles in June last year.
Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum has, in total, ten clashes on his card.
