CM Punk made his debut in the fighting world last Saturday (10), at UFC 203. Against the also inexperienced Mickey gall, the new fighter was largely dominated and lost with a submission in the first round after taking punishment on the ground.

In an interview with the YouTube channel “Fight Network”, White said that he is unlikely to give CM Punk another opportunity in the UFC. “He probably won’t have his next fight in the UFC. Having your first fight in the UFC is difficult and we saw that, even if it was against a guy who only had two professional fights [as was the case with Gall]. This is a difficult place to learn. We became friends, he's a nice guy and I like him. I have a lot of respect for him and wanted to give him a chance. I gave him his chance”, commented the manager.

CM Punk, 37, debuted in professional MMA about 18 months after signing a contract with the UFC. During this period, the fighter carried out intensive training at Duke Roufus' gym, alongside names such as Anthony Pettis, Tyron woodley and Ben Askren. Unlike his former telecatch colleague, Brock Lesnar, who won the UFC belt and who had a previous career in wrestling, CM Punk had no experience in combat sports.
