Rockhold and Jacaré rematch in the main fight of UFC Fight Night Melbourne

Athletes, who already faced each other for the Strikeforce belt in 2011, will face a five-round duel in November

A fight of great importance for the future of the middleweight division will be the main attraction of UFC Fight Night 101, an event that will take place on November 27th in Melbourne, Australia. Former division champion, Luke Rockhold rematch with Ronaldo Jacare in a duel that could give the winner the chance to compete again for the weight belt.

Rockhold, 31, lost the title in his most recent fight, in June, against Michael Bisping. The North American had won the title in December last year, when he overcame Chris Weidman by technical knockout. In total, Rockhold has 15 wins and three losses in professional MMA.

Jacaré, five years older, won Vitor belfort in his last appearance in the octagon, in May of this year. Before that, the Brazilian was defeated by Yoel romero at the same event that Rockhold beat Weidman. His record is 23 wins, four losses and one fight without result.

Rockhold and Jacaré faced each other for the first time in September 2011, for the belt of the extinct Strikeforce organization. At the time, the North American prevailed in a tight decision by the judges to take the belt that belonged to the Brazilian.

So far, this is the only fight announced for UFC Fight Night 101. The event will be held at Rod Laver Arena, known for hosting the main Australian Open tennis matches.
