The North Americans Frankie Edgar e Gray Maynard were scheduled for the main fight of UFC 130, in a duel valid for the organization's lightweight title. But both athletes were injured during the preparation for the duel and are out of action. According to the official Ultimate website, Edgar fractured his rib, and Maynard suffered a knee injury.
The fight between Edgar and Maynard would be the highlight of the duel that took place at UFC 125, where after five rounds of a fierce dispute, the side judges declared a draw, and Frankie, as current champion, defended the title with the result.
To replace the confrontation, the UFC organization acted quickly and promoted a duel between light heavyweights Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt Hamill for the main fight of the 130th edition of the show.
UFC 130 is scheduled to take place on May 28th, in Las Vegas and will have four Brazilians in action: Jorge Santiago faces Brian Stann, Thiago “Pitbull” Alves faces Rick Story, Gleison Tibau will face Bart Palaszewski and Renan Barão will face off against Cole Escovedo.
