After being fired from the UFC last year, the heavyweight considered the idea of hanging up his gloves, but the fighter changed his plans and will be back in MMA next month. The Rio native is scheduled to face the North American Josh Burns at MMAX: Heavyweight Xplosion, which will be held on June 25th in Las Vegas.
Napão comes from two consecutive defeats in the Ultimate, a fact that led to his dismissal from the North American organization. The Brazilian athlete's most recent setback occurred last October at UFC 121, where Napão was defeated by Brendan Schaub in the unanimous decision of the judges.
In turn, Burns was also defeated in his last fight. The American was knocked out by his compatriot Eric Prindle at Bellator 40, held on April 9 this year. It is worth noting that of the six victories achieved in his career, Burns obtained three of them by knockout in the first round of the fight.
