Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” Andrade from Paraná has a clear objective for UFC 203, an event that will take place this Saturday (10), in Cleveland, in the United States. She wants to win a resounding victory over Joanne calderwood in order to qualify to compete for the organization's strawweight belt.

The Brazilian had her first fight in the 52 kg division in June, when she knocked out the former title challenger Jessica penne. In case of another triumph, Jéssica believes that she will be able to go ahead of Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who is considered the favorite to challenge the current champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
“I think it's between me and Karolina, but I think the UFC is waiting for the result of this fight to decide who will face Joanna next. I hope to do a good job. They are placing big names for me, I came in sixth in the ranking, and I think I am managing to conquer my space, always climbing step by step. If this belt happens, I'll be very happy. Everything depends on my result in this fight”, said the fighter, in an interview with the UFC website in Brazil. “If I win well, I'll go up there and say: 'Dana [White, UFC president], it's my time and I really want to fight for that belt. I respect Joanna, but I think it's my time,'” she added.
Jéssica, 24 years old, has a professional record of 14 wins and five losses. Before moving down to the strawweight division, the Paraná native fought at bantamweight, where she had four wins and three setbacks in the UFC.
