alistair overeem will fight for the UFC heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic in the main fight of UFC 203, an event that will take place this Saturday (10), in Cleveland (USA), but he wants much more than “just” the title. Champion of tournaments such as Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 World GP, a famous kickboxing tournament, the Dutchman believes that by eventually winning the UFC belt, he will place himself at the highest level in his category.

“The UFC title will be the crown of my career. It will be historic. History will be made on September 10th. Yes, I will be the most decorated heavyweight of all time,” Overeem told MMA Junkie (USA).

The Reem, as he is known, also commented on the fact that he would face Miocic at his opponent's home. Used to pressure, he claims that fans in favor of his opponent will not influence his performance. According to him, this could end up turning against the champion himself.

“For me, it depends on how you look at the situation. I know how I'm going to do it, because I've done it before. I fought in Russia to crowds booing me. Let's use this to my advantage. What will this (noisy crowd) do to him? I don't know. I see it as more obligations for him, more people who want something from him and who will work in my favor. For me, I'm stepping into enemy territory and I'm going to use that as fuel, as motivation”, he concluded.

It's worth remembering that Overeem was supposed to compete for the Ultimate title against Junior Gypsy, four years ago, but he was caught in an anti-doping test with high levels of testosterone in his body, being removed from the fight and replaced by Frank mir. Now, with four consecutive victories, three by knockout, he has regained his place as challenger.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
