Yuri Marajó is another Brazilian at UFC Rio

UFC 134, also called UFC Rio, will have another clash between Brazil and the United States on the fight program. This time, the duel will be in the featherweight category between Yuri “Marajó” Alcântara, who will make his UFC debut against Mackens-Semerzier.

Marajó, who fought at lightweight throughout his career, decided to move down a category for his Ultimate debut. As one of the great promises of Brazilian MMA, the athlete from Pará has a professional record of 25 wins and three losses. Marajó comes from an excellent streak of 11 consecutive victories and in his last appearance, he knocked out Ricardo Lamas at WEC 53, held in December 2010. Semerzier ended a series of three consecutive defeats by winning Alex Caceres, finally, at UFN 24, held in March.

I met this person in Soure (in the interior of Para – on the island of Marajó) and he was a fight teacher there! I got to train with them and I really liked it, and he's a really nice person. He deserves the place he is today! Congratulations Yuri do Marajó and you are as strong as a Marajoara buffalo.
