The UFC agreed to sign lightweight Marcin Held, a former Bellator. The fighter himself released the information on his social networks. The Pole arrives with 14 fights in Bellator under his belt, totaling 11 victories and three setbacks. The fighter's debut date in Ultimate has not yet been announced.

It is worth mentioning that Held is the fifth athlete to be involved in a transaction between the two largest MMA organizations in the world in 2016 alone. In February, former UFC champion Benson Henderson was the first to migrate towards the competition. Heavyweight Matt Mitrione followed in Henderson's footsteps the following month. Will Brooks, then Bellator lightweight champion, took the opposite path and terminated his contract with Scott Coker's organization to sign with Ultimate in June. The most recent case was that of Rory McDonald, who did not renew his contract with the UFC and joined Bellator.

At just 24 years old, Marcin is seen as a prospect in the division, with bargaining power to be explored in the European market. He even challenged for the Bellator lightweight belt against Will Brooks, but was defeated by unanimous decision from the judges. Despite his young age, he already has 26 fights in his professional record, with 22 wins and four defeats.
