“Guys, I'm leaving @drgelb's office now. And guess what? He released me to train. I'm happy and I'm back. Oss”, posted the excited former champion on his social networks. In another video, he appears dancing and celebrating the fact that he can return to his strong training routine.

The Brazilian last acted in April, when he defeated Ben Rothwell by unanimous decision from the judges, and still has no fight scheduled. With 12 wins and just three losses in the UFC, Cigano became heavyweight champion in 2011, when he knocked out Cain Velazquez in just 64 seconds. A year later, at the end of 2012, Velasquez himself took the belt from Brazil by dominating Junior for 25 minutes. Since then, dos Santos has been unable to return to the high level he previously achieved, and alternates between good and bad results.
