Boasting an unbeaten record of four fights in the UFC, the North American Brendan Schaub emerges as one of the new promises in the heavyweight division of the event. The 28-year-old athlete, who won seven of his eight career victories by knockout, believes that the good phase he is going through could qualify him for a fight against fighters from the top tier of the world. “At the moment the heavyweight division is very tight. I don’t know what lies ahead, but I hope to face one of the six best ranked teams in the category,” said Schaub.
Aiming to reach the top of his category in the UFC, Schaub is looking at new challenges in the organization. With the main heavyweight fighters already having fights scheduled, the TUF 10 finalist stressed that he wouldn't mind waiting a few more months to decide his next opponent. However, the North American highlights his desire to face well-regarded athletes in the Ultimate, like the Brazilian Rodrigo Minotauro.
“There are many interesting fights for me, like, for example, against Minotauro at UFC Rio. When I considered this fight for my team, they told me that it would be a big risk to face him in Brazil in front of their fans. But I want to fight against the best, and he is on that list”, concluded the American.
