Thiago Silva against Brandon Vera
After being caught in anti-doping at UFC 125, Thiago Silva confessed that he adulterated the urine delivered to the commissioner responsible for collecting the test. Now, the Brazilian bears the consequences of his act. This Thursday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the entity responsible for judging the case, heard the athlete and revealed its decision.
Thiago Silva had his professional fighter's license revoked and will not be able to obtain a new release to perform at least until 2012. Furthermore, the Brazilian received a fine of R$54 and the result of his victory over Brandon Vera was changed to a No Contest (fight with no result ).
“I just want to apologize for everything” said Thiago, after being heard by the Commission. “I did what I did (tampering with the exam) because if I hadn't fought I would have been completely bankrupt. I have a family and people depend on my money. I was desperate to do something,” he added.
Case of Thiago Silva is the second involving an MMA athlete using fake urine. In 2006, Kevin Randleman tried to hide the use of prohibited medications in a test administered after his defeat to Maurício Shogun at Pride 32. Randleman was fined R$8 and also had his license revoked.

Thiago silva will turn things around. It's not difficult to see that Tiago silva has difficulty winning in his fights.
