Two two after winning the rematch against Nate diaz, at UFC 202, Conor McGregor received bad news: with a fractured ankle and left foot, the fighter received a medical suspension until February 17, 2017, according to the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), responsible for regulating last Saturday's event. However, Conor may be released before the scheduled date, if authorized by an orthopedist.

He is suspended until at least October 20th, and banned from contact in training until October 5th. It is not yet known who McGregor's next opponent will be, but the expectation is that his return will take place in November (5), at the UFC's debut in New York, in edition 205. The UFC's idea is that he will make the long-awaited rematch against José Aldo, valid for the featherweight belt. However, there is a possibility that he will face Eddie Alvarez, champion in the lightweight category.

Shortly after Conor's victory, Aldo, who won the interim featherweight belt last month, sent a message through his social networks, demanding that his rival make a decision about his future: “Where are you, Conor McGregor? Drop down a category and I'll meet you at UFC 205, or drop the belt”, wrote the Brazilian, in a message published on his Twitter.

Nate diaz, defeated by the Irishman in the main fight, received a much shorter suspension: out of activity until September 20th, with no contact in training until the 11th of the same month. The Brazilian Glover Teixeira, knocked out in 13 seconds by Anthony Johnson, is unable to fight until November 19th, without being able to suffer contact in training until October 20th. The biggest suspension on the list was due to the North American Neil Magny, who will need to have an x-ray on his left leg. If an injury is found, he will need to be cleared by an orthopedist or he will not be able to fight until February 17th. The minimum suspension is until September 20th and no contact in training until the 11th of the same month.
