Current UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor does not welcome the possibility of returning to the category and defending his belt against José Aldo. The Irishman, who defeated Nate diaz in the main fight of UFC 202, on Saturday (20), he was more excited about the idea of having a third duel with his North American rival.

McGregor won the 66 kg division belt in December last year, when he knocked out Aldo in just 13 seconds. Since then, he has had two more fights in the UFC, both against Diaz at a catchweight of 77 kg.

However, Aldo's actions against Frankie Edgar, at UFC 200, which gave the Brazilian the interim title of the category, did not excite McGregor. “It’s hard to get excited about facing Aldo. He didn't perform against Edgar the way I wanted. We will see. Maybe we can make a trilogy [with Nate diaz] take us lightly. Maybe for the belt… Let’s see”, said the Irishman, when asked at a press conference about what his next commitment would be.

UFC president Dana White even stated that McGregor would have his belt taken away if he did not defend it in his next fight. McGregor doubted the possibility and indicated that he could start an arm wrestle with his bosses. “I don’t think they want to take the belt away from me. How can they give my belt to the guy I knocked out in 13 seconds? I'm in a beautiful position right now. There's a lot to come. The s*** is about to hit the fan”, he threatened.

McGregor arrived at the press conference on crutches, complaining of pain. After a very busy fight against Diaz, the Irishman recognized his rival's merits. “These s*** low kicks. My legs are in pieces now, but that's okay. I didn't want to just be chasing my head. I hit the leg, I hit the body. His face was wide open and he kept coming up. You have to respect Nate,” he praised.
