In addition to defeating Nate diaz and avenge the only defeat he suffered in the Octagon, Conor McGregor There was another reason to celebrate at UFC 202, on Saturday night (20): the Irishman received the biggest declared purse in the entire history of Ultimate.
McGregor pocketed no less than US$3 million (R$9,6 million at current prices) just to climb into the Octagon. This beats the old record set by Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 last month, when he took home a reported $2,5 million payout.
Diaz, defeated in the main event, also received a significant salary. The North American won US$2 million (R$6,4 million), which is the third largest payment in the entire history of the UFC.
It is worth remembering that these are only the values declared by the UFC, without including slices of pay-per-view sales, sponsorships or other bonuses eventually paid by the organization.
