After starting his career in the UFC with victory, the North American Urijah faber will have the opportunity to fight for the belt at the event on July 2nd in Las Vegas. The Californian will be in action at UFC 132 as a challenger for the current champion's bantamweight title Dominick Cruz in a duel tipped to be the main attraction of the night.

PUBLICITY:

Faber is a former featherweight champion of the now-defunct WEC and qualified for the title fight after defeating Eddie Wineland in the unanimous decision of the judges at UFC 128, held on the 19th. It is worth noting that Faber already defeated Cruz in the only time the two fighters faced each other. The confrontation took place in 2007 at WEC 26, where the “California Kid” won by submission (guillotine choke) in the first round.

Cruz, in turn, is also a former WEC champion and will make his debut in the Ultimate after defending his old belt twice in a row. Automatically declared UFC bantamweight champion due to the merger between the events, the North American is on a streak of eight consecutive victories in his career. In his last fight, Cruz defeated Scott jorgensen in the unanimous decision of the judges at WEC 53, which took place last December.
