Patrício Pitbull and Wilson Reis shine at Bellator 37

The two Brazilian representatives in the featherweight GP of the Bellator Fighting Championships debuted with victory in the tournament on Saturday night (19). In the quarterfinals, the potiguar Patrick Pitbull and the paulista Wilson reis they won their respective fights at Bellator 37 and secured a place in the semifinals of the competition.

Pitbull dominated most of the actions against the Armenian Georgi Karakhanyan. Superior in striking, the Brazilian dictated the pace of the fight in the first two rounds. In the third round, the Tupiniquim athlete once again took the initiative in the confrontation and, after 56 seconds, he forced the referee to stop the fight after throwing a series of punches at Karakhanyan using his efficient ground and pound. Pitbull's victory by technical knockout.

Reis needed just over two minutes to finish the American Zach George. The São Paulo native worked his left blows well to then manage to take George down and get to his opponent's back. With a fair rear naked choke, Reis forced the North American to give up the fight and guaranteed his qualification for the next stage of the tournament.

In another clash valid for the GP, the Argentinean based in Brazil Nazareno Malegarie lost his unbeaten record in his career after being surpassed by the North American Daniel straus in the unanimous decision of the judges.
