Last week, Nick Diaz made an intriguing accusation when he said he had been drugged before his fight against Georges St Pierre, in 2013. The North American's boxing coach, Richard Perez, confirmed that there was a suspicious situation, which caused the athlete to present himself differently in the fight.

According to Perez, his fighter was unable to show his usual aggression, coincidentally or not, after ingesting an unknown substance presented by a Canadian employee.

“Yes, yes, I remember that. I was there, and it was a nurse Georges St Pierre who arrived and wanted to give Nick this substance. She told Nick not to take it, but he ended up taking it. I don't know what it was. I'm not saying it was a drug or anything like that, but I know he looked different in the fight. It was through an intravenous drip. I said I didn't want to, but this man insisted and said it wouldn't hurt. It was strange,” said Perez, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.

Diaz ended up dominated by St. Pierre and lost by unanimous decision from the judges at the event held in Canada. After that, the American was away for a long time and returned in January 2015, against Anderson Silva. At the time, Diaz was caught taking a doping test using marijuana and was suspended until the beginning of August 2016.
