After UFC president, Dana White, surprised the MMA world and announced his organization's purchase of Strikeforce, many doubts arose among athletes, coaches and sports lovers. Therefore, brothers Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, majority shareholders of UFC, called a telephone conference this Monday to resolve the main issues of the business.

Lorenzo stated that Strikeforce will continue with the heavyweight GP and its entire agenda scheduled for 2011, however, the top hat guaranteed the rules of the fights will be different.

“The first change that we will implement as show promoters will be the unified rules that we use in the UFC,” said Lorenzo, referring to elbows in ground fighting, which until the sale were not allowed in Strikeforce.

On the other hand, the director states that the famous UFC octagon will not be implemented in Strikeforce in 2011, and the promotion's events will continue to be played in a hexagon.

“We will continue using the hexagon, the only change, in principle, will be the unified rules”, he guaranteed.
