Shortly after the historic week of UFC 200, at the beginning of the month, Ultimate will once again hold an event numbered in pay-per-view. And, with an excess of important fights scheduled for other attractions in this second half of the year, UFC 201 is marked by a lack of major fights, which resulted in a somewhat lackluster card.

The big highlight of the night will be the fight for the welterweight belt. The champion, Robbie Lawler, seeks to defend the under-77 kg division title against Tyron woodley.

PUBLICITY:

Despite having an exciting style and having staged some of the most incredible fights in recent years (such as the second duel against Rory McDonald and its last defense, against Carlos Condit), the North American is not exactly one of the athletes with the greatest appeal to the public. Woodley arrives for the fight with a cooled image, as his last duel in the Octagon was in the distant month of January 2015, in a dull fight against Kelvin Gastelum.

Therefore, the fight is not surrounded by much expectation among the general public, nor is it expected to see a large sale of pay-per-view. However, technically the fight can provide intriguing technical questions: will Lawler be able to impose his deadly striking? Will Woodley stand up to the champion or will he try to take the fight to the ground? Will the welterweight category meet a new champion? The answers will be seen in the octagon.

The other highlights of the card

Originally, UFC 201 would have two title fights. However, the flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson, was injured and was forced to abandon the event. Wilson reis, who would be his challenger, was kept on the schedule, obviously, in a less prominent fight.

PUBLICITY:

The only Brazilian at UFC 201 will face Hector Sandoval, a UFC debutant who is a training partner of Urijah faber e cody garbrandt on Team Alpha Male. Because he has more of a name, the favoritism is all Wilson's, although the long-awaited fight for the belt was a long way off.

Another highlight is the combat between Rose namajunas e Karolina Kowalkiewicz, which could point out the next challenger for Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the women's straw belt. Furthermore, Jake ellenberger tries to escape dismissal against the tough Matt Brown.
