GSP left the organization at the end of 2013, when he was still number one in the under-77 kg division. Since then, there has been much speculation about his return, with the Canadian himself declaring himself ready to return to active duty.

However, Lawler was skeptical of St. Pierre's words. “I don’t get too excited about it. It would be cool to beat him and show my skills against him, but I don't think he'll come back. It wouldn't be smart of him. He did a lot for the sport and won a lot of fights, but I'm not the guy he'd like to come back against”, said the American, according to the website “MMA Junkie”.

Lawler, 34, has been UFC champion since 2014, how much did he beat John hendricks in the judges' decision. He has already defended the belt twice, against Rory McDonald e Carlos Condit. The third defense will take place this Saturday (30), in the main fight of UFC 201, against Tyron woodley.
