Former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold wants to recover from the loss of the belt against the biggest name in the history of his category. Both Rockhold and Anderson suffered defeats in 2016 to the current weight champion, Michael Bisping. For the former champion, the presentation of “Spider” against his training partner Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 he showed that the Brazilian still has great relevance.

“There’s a guy I’ve always wanted to face, who is Anderson Silva. Anderson Silva is still obviously relevant. He had a controversial loss to Bisping, and I also lost to Bisping. He fought my teammate at short notice, so I think he's very relevant. It’s a fight that makes a lot of sense and it would be fun to do it”, said Rockhold, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “ESPN”.

Rockhold also expressed a desire to get revenge and dethrone Bisping as champion, but admits he may never get that chance. “I would love to be able to correct this, but I don’t know if I will have the opportunity. I know how vulnerable he is for the category. I'll be ready to get in the fight at the last minute if Dan [Henderson, next challenger for the belt] gets hurt. There’s nothing I want more than to get into this fight on short notice and make this right,” he declared.

Bisping is expected to make his first title defense in October, in the main fight of UFC 204, in Manchester, England. Your opponent, Dan Henderson, already defeated him by knockout in 2009.
