Holm x Shevchenko has the fifth highest UFC audience on open TV

The last rounds of the duel had an average of 4,6 million households, the highest number in the North American summer period

UFC on FOX 20, an event held last Saturday (23), showed that the popularity of women's MMA among the masses goes far beyond Ronda Rousey. The event, headlined by the duel between the former champion Holly holm e Valentina Shevchenko, had outstanding audience numbers, which includes breaking the record for this time of year.

The last three rounds of the duel between women had an audience of 4,6 million households, which puts the event in the fifth best record since the UFC signed a contract with the broadcaster “FOX”. Overall, the average audience was 2,9 million homes, the highest of all events held in the North American summer, between June and September.

The UFC's absolute audience record on open television was precisely in the first edition of UFC on FOX, in November 2011. The duel between junior gypsy e Cain Velazquez, won quickly by the Brazilian, had an average audience of 5,7 million households, with a peak of 8,8 million.

UFC on FOX 20, held in Chicago (USA), saw the victory of Valentina Shevchenko about Holly holm in the judges' decision. The main card also featured the triumph of Edson Barboza over Gilbert Melendez, the knockout of Francis Ngannou over Bojan Mihajlovic, and the submission of Felice herrig in Kailin Curran.
