After making her debut in the UFC strawweight division, Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” from Paraná already has a date and place to return to the octagon. It will be on September 10th, in Cleveland (USA), against the Scottish Joanne calderwood.
A former bantamweight athlete, Jéssica dropped to 52 kg in her most recent fight, at the beginning of June. She achieved a resounding victory over the former challenger for the weight belt Jessica penne, with a technical knockout in the second round.
Calderwood, a striking specialist, occupies seventh place in the category's official ranking, immediately behind the Brazilian. In her last fight, “JoJo” beat Valérie Létourneau, also a former strawweight challenger, in a fight held at a combined weight of 57 kg.
UFC 203 will have as its main fight the duel between Stipe Miocic e alistair overeem, which will put the heavyweight belt at stake. The former champion Fabricio Werdum will also be active against Ben Rothwell.
