Cyborg lost in the second round of the duel, after taking a flying knee from the “Clone of Anderson Silva”. His ex-wife, also a fighter Chris Cyborg, created an online fundraising campaign in order to raise the necessary funds to cover all of Evangelista's medical expenses in England – to date, US$18 have been raised, out of a total of US$20.

However, Cyborg recorded an audio in which he clarified that his health is not at risk. “Guys, I’m in one piece. Wow, everyone is worried, running a donation campaign. I don't need anything, no, I'm fine. I'm in one piece, nothing happened. It only broke the egg shell, but nothing happened to the brain. I'm going to have the surgery in the United States, and at no point has Bellator refused to do anything. I didn't want to stay in the hospital, I left on my own. I’m fine, don’t worry,” said the fighter.

Bellator president Scott Coker revealed that the organization will cover all of Cyborg's medical expenses, in addition to giving the Brazilian fighter a financial bonus.
