Rogério Minotouro with new opponent at UFN 24

The Brazilian Rogério Minotouro was scheduled to face Tito Ortiz at UFC Fight Night 24, but the American was injured during training and is out of action. The former UFC champion suffered a deep cut on his head during a sparring session and suffered 22 stitches at the scene. Shortly after the incident, the fighter released the information on his Twitter.

"22 stitches and a horrible cut, sh*t. But I will heal soon and come back better”, Tito published on the microblog.

To take his place, the UFC organization acted quickly and called Phil Davis, 27-year-old American athlete, who has a record of eight wins and no losses in MMA. Rogério Minotauro, on the other hand, has a record of 19 wins and four defeats. The Brazilian will try to rehabilitate himself at the event, as he is coming off a defeat against Ryan bader at UFC-119, held in September 2010.

UFC Fight Night 24 takes place on March 26, in the city of Seattle, in the United States and, in addition to Rogério Minotouro, will feature another Brazilian athlete on the card: Mário Miranda will face off against Aaron Simpson. Check out the full event card below:
