Suspicion of doping takes Thiago Silva out of UFC-130

The black belt Thiago Silva is out of UFC 130, an event that takes place on May 28, in Las Vegas. The Brazilian, who would face the North American Quinton “Rampage”Jackson, left the fight program due to suspicion of doping in his last appearance, when he defeated North American Brandon Vera at UFC 125, held on January 1st.

 

In conversation with SUPER FIGHTS, Conan Silveira, Thiago's coach, commented on his athlete's situation and says he does not know the reason for the fighter's withdrawal.

“We don't know why this is happening. The only thing we have is a letter from the (Nevada State Athletic) Commission saying they were going to conduct a new test,” said Conan, who believes in his athlete’s innocence. “I can guarantee that nothing happened, he didn’t take anything,” he added.

Even with Conan's allegations, the Brazilian fighter should be replaced by the American Matt hamill, and for the coach, Ultimate only preserved one of the attractions of the event, as the winner of this duel could be a future challenger for the light heavyweight belt

“The UFC has a plan and as this situation can take a long time, they took precautions regardless of what the outcome of the case will be,” said the commander, who is still betting on his pupil’s return to the event card.
