UFC-129 breaks attendance record

UFC-129 only takes place on April 30th, but the show is already responsible for a record. The event, which will be held at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Canada, sold an incredible 55 thousand tickets, surpassing all previous numbers.

 

In just 30 minutes, 42 thousand tickets were sold online. Due to high demand, the show organizers made an additional 13 tickets available, which also sold out within minutes.

To give you an idea, the number of 55 thousand tickets is so significant that it surpasses the sum of the two previous biggest box office collections combined. UFC-124 sold 23.152 tickets and UFC-97 sold 21.451 tickets, both also held in Canada.

UFC-129 will feature as its main attraction a fight valid for the welterweight belt, where the Canadian Georges St Pierre will defend his title against the North American Jake Shields. The show will feature the participation of two Brazilians. José Aldo will put the featherweight belt on the line against the local athlete Mark hominick e Lyoto Machida will measure forces against the legend Randy Couture.
