Without thinking about Anderson, St. Pierre praises Shields

Georges St Pierre is speculated to be the Brazilian's new opponent Anderson Silva at UFC Rio, in August, but the Canadian doesn't lose focus on his next challenge: the North American Jake Shields. In an interview with Radio Sports, from Toronto, St. Pierre praised his opponent and guaranteed that Shields is the most qualified fighter to fight for the UFC welterweight title.

"Jake Shields He's the most dangerous guy I've fought. He has more tools than most other athletes, as he is probably the one who best applies jiu-jitsu in MMA, in addition to working hard in Muay Thai,” said the Canadian. “He’s the type of guy who will try to knock me out on my feet or submit me on the ground,” he added.

When asked about the possibility of moving up to the middleweight category and facing the Brazilian Anderson Silva, St. Pierre preferred not to argue and guarantees that his focus is only on the fight against Shields.

“I haven't thought about it (fighting Anderson) yet. All my focus is on (Jake) Shields and it would be foolish to think about anything after this fight”, he analyzed.

The fight between Georges St Pierre é Jake Shields is the main attraction of UFC-129, an event scheduled for April 30, in Toronto, Canada. If he wins this fight, as announced by UFC president Dana White, GSP will face the Brazilian Anderson Silva still in 2011.
