During the UFC-126 broadcast, the event's official commentator, Joe Rogan, surprised everyone when he reported that Rashad evans had been injured and Jon Jones would face the Brazilian Mauricio Shogun for the organization's light heavyweight belt. Two days after the announcement, Rashad used his Twitter to confirm the injury and explain the reasons for his withdrawal from the fight.
"Hey guys! Last night news was released that is no longer recent, but I had to leave my fight against Shogun because of an injury. I twisted my knee in training, an injury similar to that of football players”, said Rashad, who does not hide his support for his training partner, the young revelation Jon Jones, which finished, the previously undefeated, Ryan bader at UFC-126.
