UFC president, Dana White, finally managed to achieve his goal of putting the Brazilian face to face Wanderlei Silva and the North American Brian stann (remember here). After several negotiations to carry out the confrontation, the two athletes will face off at UFC 130, which will take place on May 28th in Las Vegas.

Both Wand and Stann are strikers naturals, with both winning 70% of their career victories by knockout. In his last fight, the Brazilian defeated the Englishman Michael Bisping in the unanimous decision of the judges at UFC 120. The American also comes from a victory, a result obtained by knockout over his compatriot Chris Leben in a fight valid for the UFC number 125.

In addition to Wanderlei, two other Brazilian athletes will be in action at UFC 130. Thiago Silva will look for his second consecutive victory when he faces the former light heavyweight champion of Ultimate, Quinton “Rampage”Jackson, while Thiago “Pitbull” will fight against Rick story in an attempt to establish himself once again among the best welterweights in the organization.

The main attraction of the night is the lightweight title fight between the current champion Frankie Edgar and the challenger Gray Maynard, who will form one of the most anticipated trilogies of recent times after starring in a high-profile fight at UFC 125 last January.
