Current UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos showed himself open to making what would certainly be his greatest title defense of his career, against Georges St Pierre, one of the biggest names in MMA history.

The Canadian was, for a long time, dominant champion of the top category, welterweight. Having been away from the sport for more than two years, GSP, as he is known, recently revealed that he is ready to return to competition, even opening up the possibility of moving down to lightweight in his next fight.

In a telephone press conference last Wednesday (29), Dos Anjos approved the arrival of St. Pierre in a title fight. “I'm a big fan of Georges St Pierre. For me, it would be great to be able to fight my idol. It would be a new challenger, the fight would bring in a lot of money too. Of course, if he can make weight, I'm here. The belt will be with me”, said the Brazilian.

However, Dos Anjos has another commitment ahead of him next week, against Eddie Alvarez, at UFC Fight Night 90. The champion highlighted that, despite the challenger's winning record, he will obtain another victory on behalf of his team. “Eddie Alvarez is a tough guy. He's been in the sport for a long time and he's the only guy in line, he's the next challenger. I'm going to get out there and prove to the world and myself how I work with my team. This victory will be for my team and my friends, to show everyone that I am the champion and that I will hold the belt for a long time”, he analyzed.

Next Thursday (7), Dos Anjos will make his second title defense against Alvarez, in the main fight of the event in Las Vegas (USA). The Brazilian comes from a quick and overwhelming victory against Donald Cerrone, at the end of December.
