For many years, Brazilian fans have been waiting to see a rematch between Anderson Silva e Vitor belfort. At times it seemed like the fight would be close, but the athletes always took different paths. More than five years after the duel, Belfort showed interest in marriage, although he made it clear that the UFC will also have to do its part – that is, pay the right amount that pleases both.

In an interview with the “Combate” channel website, Belfort classified the possibility of a rematch with Anderson as a “matter of negotiation”. “The UFC puts on superfights. How now they did the Nate diaz against Conor McGregor. If they want to do it, they certainly have the resources to do it. I think that, in reality, it is a question of negotiation, we are in a very good phase, too, I would say. We did a lot for the sport and I think it would be a harvest time for both of us, if something like that happened. Today's piece of cake cannot be just for the Conor McGregor or Nate diaz. The piece of cake also has to go to those people who contributed to the generations that are there today. So everything depends on negotiation”, pondered the veteran.

“I’m interested in any fight. A fight that has a purpose, but I think it's a fight that would be a 'money fight'. I'm interested in big fights and this would be a big fight, for sure. It has to be something that pleases all three sides: Anderson, Vitor and UFC”, he added.

Anderson defeated Vitor with a cinematic knockout in February 2011. Both are now coming off defeats: “Spider” lost a decision to Michael Bisping, current middleweight champion, while Belfort was defeated by Ronaldo Jacare.
