Chandler knocks out Pitbull and wins Bellator belt; Rampage returns with victory

It didn't work for the Brazilian Patricky Pitbull at Bellator 157 Dynamite 2, an event held in the early hours of Saturday (25), in St. Louis (USA). The athlete from Rio Grande do Norte faced Michael chandler for the vacant lightweight division title, but ended up being knocked out in the first round.

Dynamite, which combines MMA and kickboxing fights with a ring and circular cage in the same space, had as its main attraction the duel between the former UFC champion Quinton Rampage Jackson and former Olympic judo champion Satoshi Ishii. And Rampage won the judges' split decision (29×28, 28×29, 30×27).

Pitbull is knocked out

The fight between Patricky Pitbull e Michael chandler It started with a duel of styles. The Brazilian tried to keep the duel standing, while the North American tried to take the dispute to the ground.

Pitbull managed to avoid the fall, but ended up caught in a quick sequence from Chandler and fell to the cage, knocked out.

The North American celebrated the triumph by climbing into the cage and was provoked by Patricky's brother, Patrick Pitbull, who pointed his finger at him and started shouting.

Rampage x Ishii

the return of Rampage to Bellator, after a legal battle between the fighter and the organization, he won, but in a tepid duel. In front of the Japanese Satoshi Ishii, Olympic champion in 2008 in judo. the former UFC champion prevailed in a tight split decision from the judges (29×28, 28×29, 30×27).

Rampage, visibly out of shape, showed his fragility in defending takedowns and was dominated on the ground and against the big ones against the Japanese.

Betting on striking upon his return to combat, the North American showed that he had the weapons to win. The excitement, however, was short-lived, and the Japanese returned to the ground, where he showed his superiority.

With better performance in the third round, the former UFC light heavyweight champion ended up convincing the judges, who gave him a points count against Satoshi Ishii.
