Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, made his name as a Hollywood actor and member of WWE, the most famous telecatch event in the United States. However, his career almost took a completely different direction, which almost included a stint in the UFC.

An ardent fight fan, The Rock said he seriously considered trying his luck in MMA last decade. “There was a time when I thought, 'Man, I've accomplished everything I wanted in WWE, my film career is in fits and starts. What do I do?'. I was relatively young, I think I was 34 years old. I thought about maybe fighting in the UFC”, he detailed, in conversation with the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast.

However, he gave up on the idea when he was faced with the complexity of his mission. “In my head, I felt like I needed at least two years to just get into one fight, let alone fight in the UFC. I wasn't really sure what to do or what people I would have around me, so the idea went cold and I went the film route,” he explained.

The Rock gained fame in cinema when he participated in the films “The Scorpion King” (in which he broke the record for salary paid to a debut actor) and the entire Fast and Furious franchise. As his MMA career never took off, only two WWE representatives migrated to the UFC for good: Brock Lesnar, who became champion in 2008, and CM Punk, who will make his debut in September.
