After Michael Bisping surprised and took the UFC middleweight belt from Luke Rockhold, there was a lot of talk about a rematch between the English and Dan Henderson by category title. And the president of the UFC, Dana White, admitted that there is a possibility of the duel getting off the ground.

Bisping knocked out Rockhold earlier this month, at UFC 199. At the same event, Henderson, the oldest active UFC athlete at 45, dispatched Hector Lombard with an overwhelming knockout. The American, who already knocked out Bisping in 2009, asked for a rematch for the title, which was readily accepted by the Englishman.
Immediately, names like Ronaldo Jacare e Chris Weidman complained about the rumors. White recognizes that, if Henderson were to compete for the title, the category's ranking would be disobeyed, but he states that this could be a solution due to the excess of injuries at weight.
“I know a lot of people who want to see this fight [Henderson x Bisping], but I would have to pass a lot of other fighters behind to make it happen. Many of these fighters, however, are injured: Jacaré is injured, Weidman is injured, Rockhold just lost. So, I wouldn’t rule out this fight”, commented White, in conversation with the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast.
Jacaré is currently recovering from knee surgery, while Weidman recently underwent a neck procedure. Henderson, on the other hand, declared that he would be ready for the fight immediately, highlighting that, win or lose, it would be his last commitment in professional MMA.
